The University of the Free State (UFS) has improved the process of learning for prospective students by providing the Blackboard. That would make it easy for students to attend classes online, get lecture notes, and submit assignments.

To access the University of the Free State BlackBoard, navigate to the link below.
How to Access UFS Blackboard
- Visit the University of the Free State Blackboard.
- Look for the login button, click on it, and type in your authentication details.
- Once Logged in, Select your School and Course.
- You will then See lectures available for your course.
To access the UFS Blackboard system, click on the following link: ufs.blackboard.com. Or go to the UFS self-service website and click on the blackboard link to log in.
To log in, use your campus username and password.
Note that these are the same login credentials used by staff to browse the internet, and intranet, and log into their email address, and used by students to browse the internet and log into their UFS4life email addresses.
You will only find newly registered modules on the platform after 24 hours. Not all lecturers make use of Blackboard for additional study guides. Talk to the relevant lecturer or look in your study guide if you want to know if a specific module is available on Blackboard.
If the modules you registered for are not on UFS Blackboard, notify the Blackboard Helpdesk at the Central Computer Laboratory (next to the Sasol Library). Or contact the helpdesk at +27 051 401 9452 for assistance with uploading your modules onto Blackboard, or for other Blackboard-related queries.

How to reset a password
If you’re a staff or student and cannot access blackboard learn UFS due to a forgotten password, click on the “Reset Password” link and click on the “Forgotten Password” link on the password reset page.
In order to reset your password, the University of the Free State (UFS) will send an SMS message to the mobile number, or an email to your personal email address, available for your account on the UFS system.
This system will provide you with a security code required to reset your password. Just enter your username and hit the “Search” button.
By clicking the Search button, you give UFS permission to send the SMS to your mobile number or the email to your personal email address.
