The Post Office says it has noted that there has been a large number of beneficiaries who attempt to withdraw their R350 SRD grant before receiving their SMS.

Recipients of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant who collect their payment at the South African Post Office have been urged to do so only after receiving SMS confirmation that their grant is available.

Beneficiaries can pick up their grant at their local Pick ‘n Pay, Boxer supermarket or post office.

The Post Office also said that recipients can alternatively collect their SRD grant payments at their nearest Pick n Pay or Boxer supermarket.

These beneficiaries are also required to have their cell phone and I.D document in hand when collecting their payments from either the Post Office or the above-mentioned supermarkets.

Additionally, beneficiaries who have opted to receive their SRD grant payments through the bank account or cash send method can only collect their payment at the bank of their choice. Read How To Change R350 Grant Payment Method To Bank Account.

SASSA has reminded beneficiaries that the first week of every month is set aside for paying out old age, disability and child grants. This means SRD grant payments cannot be collected on the same days as SASSA’s permanent grants.
