- Step 1: Go to the SASSA SRD grant website
- Step 2: Scroll down to ‘My application status’
- Step 3: Then click on ‘Click here to check online’
- Step 4: Enter your South African ID Number
- Step 5: Enter your Phone Number
- Step 6: Then click ‘Submit’
- Step 7: You should then be able to see your Sassa SRD grant application status
This way, you will be able to see if Sassa has approved your R350 grant application or you’ve been declined or you should lodge an appeal if you feel like your application was denied for a reason that you believe is not fair.
The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is administered in terms of section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004) and is implemented with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance.
The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is meant for South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60 years, who have insufficient means, who do not receive social grants on behalf of herself/ himself or who are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment, and have no financial support from any other source.
All SRD R350 grant applicants must reconfirm their grant applications at least once every 3 months. This reconfirmation informs SASSA that applicants still need and qualify for the grant in terms of the regulations.
