It has been a year since the University of Cape Town (UCT) launched its online school. The university received recognition within months of being launched. Recently, it has made an announcement of a few milestones worth noting.

The University of Cape Town (UCT) launched its online High School at a time when parents and guardians followed the global trend of online learning as it became an attractive option with the world being amidst a pandemic.

Within months of the launch of UCT Online High School, it was then selected among the 12 Top Innovators in The WorldClass Education Challenge at the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Development Impact Summit 2021.

The University of Cape Town Online High School (UCT OHS) is immensely pleased to be able to offer an additional curriculum in the form of the Cambridge Assessment International Education.

Learners will have the option of choosing between two curricula, of which the newly added Cambridge International qualification will cost R3 300 per month.

Christine Özden, Chief Executive of Cambridge Assessment International Education welcomed UCT Online High School with warm arms to the global community of Cambridge schools.

The schools Director & Principal, Yandiswa Xhakaza announced that an Adult Matric programme will soon be launched, and it will be entirely online. This programme is aimed at adults that want to take their second shot in writing their National Senior Certificate.

The school has committed to support prospective individuals that will be joining this programme, offering a viable and affordable alternative for them to study online, and part-time, towards their matric certificate.
