The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has opened applications for grade 7 and grade 8 admissions for the 2022 academic year. Applications are open from 13 September 2021 – 8 October 2021.
Parents can apply to a maximum of 5 schools. Supporting documents must be submitted along with the application, this must be done within 7 days of applying.
Parents are encouraged to use a reliable cellphone number when applying, as the Department will send regular SMSes to the cell phone number used to register and apply.
If you need assistance with the applications, the department has set up decentralized walk-in centers that are available from 08:00 to 16:00.
Applications for placing learners in schools are not approved on a first come first serve basis, so parents do not have to worry.
