How To Update Your Pay As Your Earn (PAYE) Number
To update your PAYE number, follow these steps:
- Complete the UI.8
- Send an email to newui8registrations@labour.gov.za with the following supporting documents: SARS certificate and if applicable CIPC registration documents.
PAYE is the process of deducting or withholding tax from remuneration as it is earned by an employee. This tax is paid to the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
PAYE can be paid using the following methods:
- eFiling
- Electronic payments (EFT)
- Payments at a bank
The PAYE number is used by the employer who deducts and pays PAYE (employee’s tax) to SARS on behalf of employees.
