HOW TO PAY YOUR CAO APPLICATION FEE ONLINE
- Go to the CAO website
- Submit your application
- After clicking on ‘Process my application’ a message will appear telling your how you may pay the application administration fee
- If you submitted your application online or through the app and want to pay at a later date:
- Click on ‘My application’ on the homepage
- Enter your CAO or ID number
- Click ‘Submit’
- Click ‘Pay Now by Credit Card
- If you submitted your application through a hard copy and want to pay at a later date:
- Click on ‘My application’ on the homepage
- Enter your CAO number that’s on your application form
- Click ‘Submit’
- Click ‘Make a payment
Note: All payments to the CAO are done through EasyPay or online at www.cao.ac.za. Click on My Application and follow the instructions. Card payments can also be made at the CAO’s office. The CAO office does not accept cash.

HOW TO PAY YOUR CAO APPLICATION FEE PHYSICALLY
Any EasyPay location, including ShopRite, Checkers, PicknPay, Boxer Superstores, Woolworths, and so forth, is where you can pay the cost. Your CAO number and ID number must be presented. When making a payment, mention your specific EasyPay number as the reference.
Alternatively, you can pay at the CAO offices in Durban, which are at Gate 11 of May Thiphe Street. Only cards are accepted for payment.
The CAO strongly advises applicants to make sure that they pay all administration fees by the application deadlines. When completing your CAO application, you must check the Financial Aid box if you are an NSFAS student.
CAO APPLICATION PROCESS
Below are the following ways you can apply at CAO:
- On your browser, visit the official CAO website, www.cao.ac.za online application 2023.
- Select the Apply icon on the dashboard.
- Read the information that pops up and click Continue with Application.
- Key in your ID number or passport number and click Submit.
- Scroll down on the page that pops up. At the bottom, click Continue with Application.
- Enter the required details. Ensure you provide an active and valid email address. Determine the information you provide is accurate before clicking Next.
- Next, click Continue with Online Application.
- A window will pop up with your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number. Read all the instructions and note the numbers given as you will need them to access your account. Then, click Continue with Online Application.
- Follow the instructions that will pop up and enter ALL the information required. Click Next.
- Enter the Next of Kin details, then click Next.
- Enter details of the institution you attended, then click Search. The school name will appear in a box. Next, enter the year you joined and graduated from the school, then click Next.
- Click Process My Application. A message showing your details have been submitted successfully will pop up.
- Next, you can upload your supporting documents and pay the administration fee.
