    Over 11.2 million people have applied for the R350 grant from the beginning of August. Last Month the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) started processing payments of the special R350 Social Distress of Relief Grant.

    Active grant means that SASSA has received your application. This means that your application is still being considered and Sassa will inform you of the outcome of it.

    How to Check your SRD grant status

    Step 1: Visit the SASSA website https://srd.sassa.gov.za 
    Step 2: Click on Application Status
    Step 3: Fill in the required information
    Step 3: You will then see the current status of your grant

    In a statement, Sassa says “clients, who have received the R350 grant in their SASSA card, are advised not to collect at the Post Office but to access the money at merchants or bank ATMs. These clients are reminded that they can also use the card to pay for purchases and not necessarily only to withdraw cash,”
